1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Alarmia ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of service
Alarmia provides alarm scheduling, timers, sleep and mood tools, accessibility preferences, wake streaks, optional leaderboards and AI insights, accountability connections, notification delivery, and optional safety features such as check-ins, incident alerts, and live-location sharing. Availability varies by device, browser, permissions, network, account state, and configured feature flags. The App is provided "as is" and "as available."
3. AI features & third-party donations
Alarmia includes AI-generated morning briefs and weekly sleep insights. These are informational only and do not constitute medical or health advice. The App also includes optional "Buy Me a Coffee" links to support development — these are entirely voluntary and do not affect App functionality. Donations are processed by BuyMeACoffee (a third-party service) and are subject to their terms.
4. User accounts
Some features require creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate information and update it as necessary.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: a) Use the App for unlawful purposes b) Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App c) Impersonate other users or manipulate leaderboard data d) Upload harmful, offensive, or illegal content
6. Intellectual property
All content, features, and functionality of Alarmia are owned by the developers and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
7. Safety, permissions, and delivery limits
Alarmia is a consumer safety aid, not an emergency service, medical device, monitoring center, or substitute for contacting local emergency services. Safety alerts, live location, push notifications, email, sound, vibration, and background alarms can be delayed, unavailable, inaccurate, or blocked by permissions, connectivity, battery settings, browser suspension, Do Not Disturb, provider failures, or device limitations. You remain responsible for choosing recipients, reviewing permissions, and using an operating-system alarm or emergency channel for critical needs.
8. Accountability relationships and location sharing
Partner and caregiver features share selected alerts or status information only with relationships configured in the App. When you activate live location for a safety incident, authorized incident recipients may view updates until tracking stops or the incident expires or is resolved. You should invite only people you trust, review relationship roles, and revoke access when it is no longer appropriate.
9. Consent, blocks, and prohibited automation
Relationship access is directional and capability-specific. Accepting one capability does not authorize another; sensitive expansion requires a new request. You may revoke your grants, disconnect, or block another user. You must not use invitations, alerts, WebMCP tools, or device actions for harassment, account enumeration, surveillance, coercion, alert abuse, or bypassing another person's consent. Browser agents may prepare drafts and open review screens, but a human must confirm relationship and safety decisions.
10. Readiness plans and wake challenges
Readiness plans use the important moment, durations, and buffer you choose to calculate a suggested wake time. Private preparation stays private; explicit shared readiness requires separate consent. Scheduling evidence is not proof of audible delivery. Trusted-person invitations, messages, location sharing, and escalation require separate human review and applicable consent. Camera, microphone, motion, voice, and QR wake challenges depend on device support and permission; Alarmia provides an alternative local challenge when practical and does not treat sensor success as medical or identity verification.
11. Account protection
Alarmia may require CAPTCHA, temporary progressive cooldowns, recent sign-in, or multi-factor authentication to protect accounts and privileged operations. Protection is temporary rather than a permanent lock. You must keep recovery codes and linked accounts secure and promptly revoke sessions or devices you no longer control.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Alarmia is not liable for missed alarms, delayed or undelivered alerts, sleep disruption, inaccurate device or location data, or losses arising from use of or inability to use the App. Device capabilities and third-party delivery services vary and are outside Alarmia's complete control.
13. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
